[Tutorial] Photoshop Retouching Hair Color

Fake images are all around us. Almost every model or artist photo is digitally beautified prior to its public release. Sometimes this goes too far and the photos are so fixed that leaves almost no traces of the original natural beauty of the subject being retouched.

This is My frineds Photo, I`m Not Sure If He allow me to edit His Photo. :D

This is the photo we will be starting with :

1. Open The Image file

2. Select Hair Area

Go into Quick Mask mode and Select black from the Swatches palette. Use an appropriate sized brush and paint over the person’s hair in the photo .

when you are in Quick Mask mode, the brush will paint a transparent red

Go into Edit in Standard Mode.

Create a new layer and then fill the area with the color of your choice, I have chosen to go with a dark blue/brown :

3. Use Erase Brush

Thats looks better, but there will be some areas where you went over her hair line/ears etc. Select the eraser brush on a larger feathered size brush, Opacity size: 20% and start to clean up those bits :

When you have it looking how you want, duplicate that layer to make the hair shade darker and again you will see some bits which need to be cleaned up with the eraser brush, choose an even larger feathered brush for this (size 65 or 100 for this image) and blend it in a little bit more :
